Rudraksha Wearing Rules: Mantra, First Day and Daily Care
Rudraksha wearing rules
Practices differ by lineage, family and priestly guidance. The most useful rule is consistency: begin respectfully, keep the bead clean and follow the guidance supplied for your specific Rudraksha.
Before first wear
- Confirm the bead and certificate details.
- Share the wearer’s correct name for personal preparation.
- Keep the Rudraksha clean and dry.
- Choose the mantra and first-wearing day recommended for that mukhi or by your priest.
Which day should you begin?
Monday is a common general choice for Rudraksha. Some traditions recommend a different weekday for particular mukhi counts or planetary associations. The product page provides a starting reference, while a qualified priest’s guidance takes precedence for a personal ritual.
Mantra practice
Pronounce the mantra slowly and respectfully. A short, sincere practice is preferable to rushing a large count. Mantra variants exist, so do not treat one online version as universally binding.
Daily care
- Avoid perfume, harsh soap, bleach and chemical cleaners.
- Remove the piece before swimming or using strong hair and skincare products.
- Wipe gently and store separately in a clean, dry pouch.
- Check thread, caps and fittings regularly.
- Follow the care instructions supplied with the actual piece.
